ACVL Creates New Blog for Member Community
A blog is a particular type of web site, where articles (“posts” or “entries”) are listed in reverse-chronological order (the most recent articles at the top). Blogs are usually published by individuals as a kind of diary, journal, magazine or independent journalism. There are many millions of active blogs on the Internet, written by millions of people about millions of topics.
The ACVL Blog is for the use of laboratory members to post articles, ask a question or make a comment about an article.
For example, questions might appear like this:
- “Should there be a mishap when processing color negative film, and the client does or does not have negative insurance, what are my (the film lab) obligations?"
- "Has anyone consistently had a high minimum density as shown by the Kodak processing surveys and what have you done about this?"
- "Can anyone comment about the need for computer automating our densitometer? The available software seems to be more extensive than required."
Associate members are welcome to read all content and may submit articles (or posts) to the editor for review and possible publishing.
Any technical, business or operations question is appropriate to this forum. Please, no job hunting.
This is a private blog for the use of ACVL Members and participation is by invitation only.
ACVL Member representatives will be the first to receive invitations to participate in the ACVL Blog. Getting set up is a two-step process. More information will soon be available.
The blog login is located at http://www.acvl.wordpress.com/.
Editor
ACVL Board Member Bill Driber of NFL Films is the Editor of the ACVL Blog. As Editor, Driber can publish, edit and delete any posts/pages, moderate comments, manage categories, manage tags, manage links and upload files.
Member Participation
The ACVL Blog is private and available only to assigned users. In order to participate, you will need a user name and a user role.
User Name
Your “user name” is the name of your film lab’s ACVL member representative. Only one user name per member lab is available. This name is provided to ACVL by the key ACVL member representative.
For example, Bob Olson is the ACVL member representative for Technicolor. His user name (all lower case) would be “bobolson”. He can ask anyone from Technicolor to contribute to the ACVL blog, but that person’s comment would appear under the user name “bobolson”.
Other lab members, i.e. from Technicolor in this example, can, with Bob Olson’s permission, contribute to the blog and are encouraged to contribute. In other words, once any lab employee has the permission of the respective ACVL lab member, these individuals can make an entry to the ACVL blog.
User Roles
All ACVL lab member representatives are assigned the role of author. An author can edit, publish and delete their posts and they can upload files.
All ACVL associate member representatives are assigned the role of contributor. A contributor can edit their posts but cannot publish a question, a comment, or reply without first receiving approval from the editor.
Password
The password is the same for all user names.
Questions
If you have any questions about participation, please contact ACVL Blog Editor Bill Driber at 856-222-3586 or email bill.driber@nfl.com.
